The Spanish Villas
Studio DC were commissioned to produce a speculative development of 4 large new-build villas for a site in Andalusia, Spain. Through careful negotiation with the planning authorities and building control, planning permission was granted. Work has now been completed on site.
Each villa was designed with its own distinct personality to appeal to a variety of prospective buyers but they all share a common theme of a ‘courtyard house’ typology and were designed with a strong emphasis on outdoor living. The plan forms were deliberately conceived to maximise connection with the external courtyards and swimming pools which surround the house and are very successful in ‘bringing the outside in’
